New Bedford Marine Commerce Terminal

The PORT OF NEW BEDFORD

America’s Heavy-Lift Gateway for Offshore Wind and Cargo

The Marine Commerce Terminal is the highest uniform load capacity cargo facility on the East Coast, purpose-built to support the construction, assembly, and deployment of offshore wind turbines. Designed to accommodate heavy-lift operations and large-scale marine logistics, the terminal features reinforced laydown areas, deep-water access, and direct connectivity to regional and international shipping routes.

Managed by the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center, the terminal’s strategic location near major offshore wind lease areas along the East Coast makes it a critical hub for clean energy development. Its advanced infrastructure and proximity to supply chains position the Marine Commerce Terminal as a cornerstone for offshore wind staging, manufacturing support, and long-term maritime economic growth.
